Few people would argue that the kitchen is the ‘heart of any home’. Therefore the way we decorate this room is important because it plays a part in our everyday lives.
What do need from window furnishings in the kitchen? A better question might be, what don’t we need!
This is one of the busiest areas of the house. Therefore any blind or shutter in this room needs to be able to stand up to constant use and be able to cope with regular changes in moisture and heat during meal preparation.
The reason for our recommendation is that both blinds provide an ample block of decorative design in the window and can offset other design features in the room.
Roller blinds in particular are very effective as a kitchen blind and come with a broad selection of fabrics, are easy to use and also excellent value for money.
Roman blinds in contrast are less practical and affordable in comparison to roller blinds. However, they deliver a more rounded, premium and traditional window furnishing design which can be easily co-ordinated with, and made from, fabric used elsewhere in the room.
When considering which blind to use in the kitchen, we would urge you to carefully consider either roman or roller blinds. The final choice may well be based upon whether your main priority is function (roller blind) or form (roman blind).
